The mission of LiveWell Colorado is to advance lifestyle, environmental, and policy changes that promote health through the reduction and prevention of obesity in all Colorado state residents.
LiveWell Colorado aims to reach its goals by supporting policy initiatives that will create healthy places. This includes supporting healthy eating, active living, and working with schools to "freshen-up" school lunches by training cafeteria workers to prepare fresh, made from scratch meals. In addition, LiveWell Colorado invests in community coalitions around the state that are working to advance healthy eating and active living at the local level.

In 2009, LiveWell Colorado's community investment strategy led them to award $4 million in funding to community coalitions in 25 communities across the state that are working on healthy eating and active living strategies.
